As a Software Engineer at Viasat, you will be a member of a highly capable team developing a novel communication services platform in the Resilient Space Missions business area. You will join a software development team that addresses the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model from the top application layer down to the physical layer. You will understand the end-to-end software system, receive design assignments in a Continuous Implementation/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) model, document and peer review your designs, implement the designs through unit testing, and support the software test for operational use. You will work with interdisciplinary teams including Project, Systems, Software, and System Test engineers. Sound interesting? Keep reading... Requirements

• 5+ years of professional or academic experience with computer science or software engineering
• Technical understanding of Jira, C++ software development, script development, and automation
• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
• Ability to perform system-level analysis
• Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Up to 10% of domestic travel Preferences
  • Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Clearance
  • Security clearance with SSBI/SCI highly preferred
  • Experience with Agile methodology and DevOps models
  • Jenkins build automation
