Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineer Software - Embedded to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.Candidates will work on software supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development and test. Candidates will work on software systems primarily in C/C++ development, with a focus toward embedded design.Essential Functions:
  • Develop new software modules supporting cutting edge technology.
  • Ensure software quality through unit testing.
  • Support software integration and system testing.
  • Assist in system design and troubleshooting.
  • Identify and implement software bug fixes.
  • Update and maintain software documentation.
  • Primary focus on embedded and Real-Time development.
  • Work in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
  • Utilize experience with the C++ programming language and object oriented programming.Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 2 years related engineering experience, OR a Masters in STEM with no experience.
    • An active in-scope DoD TOP SECRET clearance, and the ability to obtain and maintain program access.
    • Experience developing with C++, and Working knowledge of embedded software design methods.
    • Must have experience with formal software life cycle development methodologies, requirements through test, and Agile development methodologies.
    • Familiarity with major pieces in VMS systems architecture.
    • Basic understanding of 2 of the following redundancy concepts:
      • CCDL
      • hot/warm restarts
      • sync
      • duplex vs triplex vs quad implementations
      • Familiarity with at least 1 of the common flight critical interfaces:
        • 1553
        • 1394
        • 429
        • Serial
        • CAN
        • Discrete & Analog I/OPreferred Qualifications:
          • Degree in Software Engineering/Development
          • Extensive experience with embedded software development

            Salary Range: 82400 - 123600

            Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
