The Technical Sales Representative initiates and maintains relationships with our clients. The sales representative identifies clients needs and works to understand their decision making process. This position requires exceptional ability to anticipate and act upon the needs of the client. The Sales Representative is the company's primary conduit to requirements and trends in the marketplace with an understanding of how those requirements are affected by competitive behavior. The sales representative must posses the ability to listen and persuade others to aid in the quest of client acquisition and retention. In addition, this position requires swift decision making abilities which maximize the benefit to the client and the company alike. The Technical Sales Representative is involved in the development and implementation of the sales plan and goals. This is accomplished by team building and directing focus toward these goals on a companywide level. This sales representative will actively participate and be accountable for the functions as outlined below:

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prospecting: Effectively identify potential new clients and identify opportunities to increase revenue with existing clients.
  • Presentations: Present a polished, confident seminar to clients.
  • Customer and Company Relations: Foster positive, constructive relationships with clients and regulators.
  • Efficiency and Time Management: Coordinate with Project Managers to map out action plan. Maximize the number of calls and email correspondence while traveling. Key account identification and management.
  • Overcoming Objections: Utilize probing skills to understand the client's perspective, needs, concerns, and desires.
  • Negotiation: Utilize sales skills to negotiate reasonable expectations and outcomes with clients i.e. price, deliverables, T&C.
  • Customer Knowledge: Effectively identify and categorize your clients, key accounts, and technical contacts. Explore and understand your key accounts.
  • Competitor Knowledge: Know who your major and minor competitors are. Understand differentiators between EATL and our competitors.

    Qualifications
    • BS degree in science or environmental field required; previous environmental industry experience or equivalent preferred;
    • Desire to spend majority of time in the field, utilizing the efforts and talents of the team to accomplish sales goals;
    • Knowledge of analytical considerations and/or compound data such as vapor pressure, polarity, chemical reactivity, standard preparation techniques, and column and detector selection is desired in order to impart a technical understanding when working with clients;
    • Effective communication skills, both written and oral;
    • Prior inside or outside sales or customer service experience with knowledge of the sales cycle and required documentation;
    • Excellent organization skills to manage multiple projects; maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
    • Knowledge of and ability to utilize various computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
    • Consistent and professional approach to problem solving in an time-sensitive, production-oriented environment;
    • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork, working closely with a variety of departments and maintain strong working relationships;
