Reasonable accommodations for medical and religious objections will of course be considered.Keep reading to learn more about this opportunity to join the Cox family of businesses.The Sr. Financial Analyst will play an integral role in Cox Communication, Inc.s ("CCI" or the "Company") centralized accounting function to support the Controller. This role will support accounting policy and technical consultations, the implementation of new accounting guidance, policy creation, and accounting business integration. This role will also support the activities related to analyzing CCIs monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages to ensure accuracy of the Companys financial statements and to equip leadership with business insights to make operational and financial decisions.Primary Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsAccounting Policy

  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of the Companys accounting policy, policy creation, and application
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource for the CCI division; this includes accounting research, documenting analyses in technical accounting memos.
  • Work with various functions, including finance and operational teams, to advise on deal structures and contract terms.
  • Assist in maintaining an accounting consultation process, including facilitating weekly meetings, status reporting and presenting accounting research
  • Collaborate with the Financial Reporting team on new GAAP requirements and support operational implementationAnalysis
    • Assist in the compilation of monthly and quarterly financial statement analyses across the Accounting functional teams, partnering across the teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of analyses
    • Prepare presentations of periodic variance analyses, including developing standards and ensuring effectiveness of reporting
    • Perform ad hoc research and analysis on various areas of accounting issues in support of special projects or requests leveraging available data and tools
    • Simultaneously manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality workQualifications:Minimum
      • 5 or more years of experience required in accounting, including at least two years in public accounting; 3 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree or CPA
      • CPA eligible
      • Strong knowledge of GAAP
      • Strong analytical, research capabilities and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivered results
      • Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple, changing priorities and work under tight deadlines
      • Experienced in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating ones own work
      • Proven track record of identifying issues, developing structured action plans
      • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams
      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointPreferred
        • BS/BA in related discipline (i.e., finance and accounting)
        • CPA is strongly desired
        • Advanced degree in related discipline strongly desired (finance, accounting)
        • Big Four experience
        • Experience in telecommunications industry
        • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), Oracle, Hyperion Planning, OneStream and SmartView/Essbase is a strong plus
