Our team develops the real-time communications framework that helps people stay connected on iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. Our team is responsible for the ultra-low latency video streaming technology powering FaceTime, SharePlay, Sidecar, AirPlay, HomeKit Secure Video, and much more! Our team is looking for talent who will come shape the future of real-time communications here at Apple!Key Qualifications

• A deep understanding of multithreaded programming
• Experience with object-oriented programming in C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift
• Good discipline around writing unit and integration tests when developing new featuresDescriptionWe are looking for a strong software engineer to develop software for real-time audio/video conferencing and media distribution systems. Our custom audio/video pipeline is used in features like FaceTime, Group FaceTime, SharePlay, Sidecar, AirPlay mirroring (4K HDR video at 60 frames per second), and HomeKit Secure Video. As a real-time video software engineer in this role, you will be responsible for developing features, contributing to design and architecture, analyzing and optimizing performance, and tuning algorithms for enhancing the audio and video communications experience.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.Additional Requirements
  • Desired but not required:
    • Experience with real-time audio/video streaming stacks
      • Experience with voice/video over IP
        • A deep understanding of application-level networking technologies and protocols
          • Experience with Cocoa programming
            • Experience with common security protocols
              • Experience with agile software development
