Responsibilities:The Defense Mission and Health Solutions Sector supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Peraton Team on the modernization and replacement of the ground-based leg of the nuclear triad, nuclear missiles that can be launched from land, sea, and air.Peraton provides Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) and Early Production & Deployment. The EMD phase includes full system design, build and demonstration, qualification, test and evaluation, and nuclear certification.The position is based out of San Diego, CA.What you'll do:The Software Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:Derive and allocate requirements into detailed designDesign, develop and test software product functionalityCollaborates with stakeholders (Systems, Quality Control Engineers) to ensure software requirements are metPerforms software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best practicesGenerates software product documentationQualifications:Required qualifications:EDUCATION: BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2 Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Software, an additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degreeCLEARANCE: Candidate must currently have an active U.S. Government DOD Secret ClearanceExperience in C++ Software DevelopmentIn the Loop and Faster than Real-Time Model and Simulation workEligible for Special Access Program ClearanceDesired qualifications:Experience with modern (Model Based System Engineering) MBSE principles and SysML Modeling LanguageExperience Interpreting complex algorithms and requirements for implementationExperience working within on an Agile team within a DevSecOps environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peersBenefits:At Peraton, our benefits are designed to help keep you at your best beyond the work you do with us daily.
