Technical Sales Engineer - Business Development - Application
EngineerADP Client is currently seeking an experienced Technical
Sales Engineer - Business Development - Application Engineer to
join our team of professionals in Vista, CA 90281.About Us:Our
customers provide space related products to the industry and to
government. Examples of our customer's products include;
satellites, radar and aircraft. Our products support the build-up,
integration, transportation, testing, and storage of our customer's
products resulting in increased production, improved efficiencies,
reduced downtime, reduced costs and improved profits for our
customers. We have been in business for over 50 years, we are
located in Northern San Diego County, and we have approximately 50
employees.What you'll do:Core duties and responsibilities include
the following.Profile of Ideal Business Development - Application
Engineer Candidate:
- TEAM oriented personality and a focus to service the customer
first
- Understanding of basic Mechanical Engineering principals and an
ability to apply this knowledge to support our customer's
needs
- Can demonstrate from a track record (either educationally or
professionally) that striving for excellence is a character trait
possessed and thrived on
- Personable, outgoing, and ability to articulate ideas clearly &
methodically (both verbally and written)
- Interest in developing long term business relationships with
customer contacts
- Very good listener and ability to probe for helpful
information
- Proactive and requires very little supervision to execute and
perform
- Enjoys picking up the phone and calling customers
- Recent ME graduates will be considered
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.Business Development - Application
Engineer Job Description:
- Continually develop Business Development skills and an
understanding of the sales cycle
- Outbound calls to contacts in both existing and new customer
accounts to share relevant and valuable information
- Identify new contacts of influence in existing key accounts to
expand the visibility of our expertise
- Field inbound customer inquiries relating to; procurement of
our products, new applications, and technical product support
- Apply Mechanical Engineering principals to customer's needs and
come up with creative solutions to improve productivity & quality,
minimize cost, decrease plant downtime, etc.
- Develop an intimate understanding of our customer programs
- Travel to and call on Aerospace accounts throughout the USA
(approximately 15% of time) to build rapport with customer contacts
and understand their needs more effectively
- Identify creative approaches to capture new business
- Generate customer proposals in conjunction with Engineering,
Production, and Management that articulate the value of our
solutions
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities (in various stages of
a sales cycle) simultaneously
- Write-up customer orders and maintain contact with customers
throughout the production process
- Utilize the contact management database to log ALL customer
interactions
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor or
managementOur Perfect CandidateEducation and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (additional degrees
or classes in sines related fields would be a plus)
- Business development / Sales: 1 - 3 years (Preferred)
- US Citizenship is a MUST, since clearance is required

companiesCompensation and Benefits:
- Annual salary range is $90k to $110k, depending on experience
and education
- Not a commission-based role
