Job Description:

Senior Systems Administrator to support the Military Sealift Command Support (MSCS) in San Diego, CA in support of LENEL systems. You will assist MSCS in establishing and maintaining a secure information technology system operation that provides an independent and objective evaluation of the operational effectiveness and suitability of naval aviation, surface, subsurface, expeditionary, C4I, cryptologic, and space systems in support of DoD and DoN acquisition and fleet introductions decisions.
This position is based in San Diego, CA, and will require on-site support a minimum of 3 days per week to meet mission requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
--- Provide system administrator functions for design and test systems
--- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for hardware and software administration, installation, interoperability, configuration management, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
--- Operate and manage the server infrastructure, including the administration, installation, configuration, upgrade, and sustainment of all servers running operating systems including but not limited to Microsoft Windows and Linux
--- Assist in the installation and upgrade of ACAS systems
--- Assist various teams in scanning and patching of all assets, completing STIG checklists, and mitigating all CAT I and CAT II open findings
--- Manage Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy Objects (GPO) in a Windows domain
--- Deploy patches and packages with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
--- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, processes, and service records
--- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for system administration, usage, and disaster recovery
--- Oversee new and existing system equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
--- Active DoD Secret Clearance
--- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering or similar preferred
--- An Information Assurance certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II is required
--- LENEL Certified Professional/Lenel Certified Expert
--- Minimum 8 years of experience, preferably in a DoD environment
--- Demonstrated experience in Active Directory, maintaining directory services, GPO management (GPMC), system administration of Windows/Linux, and operating system hardening techniques
--- Intermediate skills in identifying and anticipating server performance, availability, capacity, or configuration problems
--- Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis to establish system security designs using tools such as DoD ACAS, SCAP, and STIGs
--- Highly self-motivated and directed, with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
--- Ability to manage time well to meet assigned milestones
--- Experience working with distributed teams
--- Strong communication skills; motivated to investigate, analyze, and document system issues and resolutions; provides consistent status updates to ensure IT security projects stay focused
--- Strong work ethic and a proven professional - respectful, dependable, takes initiative and follows through
REQUIRED EDUCATION
