The Computer Operator I works under close personal supervision and is provided detailed written or oral guidance before and during assignments. As instructed, this worker resolves common operating problems and may serve as an assistant operator working under close supervision or performing a portion of a more senior operator's work. COMPUTER USER SUPPORT SPECIALIST McLaughlin Research Corporation's San Diego location is actively seeking COMPUTER USER SUPPORT SPECIALISTto assist personnel with computer hardware and software issues, including tracking issues, and following up with personnel on status. Shall work closely with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) on prioritizations and tasking. Tasking will also include Information Assurance support and working closely with the ISSO on task support needs. Provide support in accordance with applicable Command and local policies and processes. Tasks may include: --- Inspecting equipment and prepare order sheets to prepare for delivery to users. --- Preparing evaluations of software or hardware and recommending improvements or upgrades. --- Answering user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems. --- Overseeing the daily performance of computer systems. --- Entering commands and observation system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors. --- Installing and performing minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. --- Setting up equipment for employee use, installing/routing cables, installing operating systems on computer hardware, or installing appropriate software. Contractor shall ensure equipment and software are properly installed. --- Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities. --- Monitoring consumable requirements and preparing documentation to order replacements. --- Processing hazardous items for disposal in accordance with local and federal regulations. --- Utilizing Government provided information, conducting research, providing recommendations and other pertinent information to Government representative, and assisting in implementing hardware and software items for existing and/or new projects.
