Job Description Embark on a journey of innovation with the BAE
Systems' Platform Engineering IT group in San Diego, California,
where we seek an IT Storage Systems Administrator to deploy,
monitor, and manage a diverse set of distributed storage systems.
Platform Engineering manages a very dynamic multi-site development
engineering development environment. In this role, you will work to
implementing robust, resilient, and advanced storage solutions. You
are not just addressing today's needs but setting the foundation
for future operations. This position is hybrid allowing some
flexibility to work from home.As the IT Storage Systems
Administrator, you will address existing challenges while defining
capacity and technology solutions for future needs. Ideally, the
candidate will have experience with the unique data storage needs
for Kubernetes, LLM, or AI/ML processing. The IT Storage
Administrator will work a coordinated cross-capability team
including Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Security, and IT
Operations to achieve your project objectives. At BAE Systems, we

curve.Key Responsibilities:
Service Oriented: Address user
service requests in a timely manner to design, implement,
provision, and maintain services. Able to respond off-hours to
occasional service disruptions. Storage Operations Maintenance:
Troubleshoot and service storage solutions in the data centers with
excellence, maximizing uptime, capacity management, and
effectiveness.Process Focus: Mange work according to repeatable
processes to maximize standardization and minimize baseline
drift.Independent: Self motivated and able to operate within
operational expectations with independence.Documentation Champion:
Document configuration for new and existing systems as well as
processes used to maintain systems.Security Oriented: Maintain data
confidentiality and integrity through a variety of NACL, RBAC,
LDAP, and other permission models. Also, work with security to
define and apply hardening requirements for storage
solutions.Forward Planning: Review utilization trends and customer
usage projections to ensure sufficient capacity and capabilities
are in place to meet projected needs.Data Center Maintenance:
Coordinate with other on-site administrators to maintain the
datacenter storage infrastructure.Flexibility: Ability to flex
tasking to support other disciplines in their tasks as necessary.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Top
Secret clearance with SCIWorkforce Experience: 4+ years of
experience in storage system management.Demonstrated Performance:
Experience with various scalable storage solutions such as Ceph,
Commvault, NetApp, Dell Unity, or HPE Nimble Data Center
Management: Experience maintaining storage services in a data
center, including storage configuration and installation, failure
maintenance, and operations.Virtualization: Working knowledge with
at least one on-premises virtualization environment such as VMware,
Azure, or OpenStack with experience integrating storage. Permission
Integration: Ability to integrate MS Active Directory and Linux
permissions into managed storage device solutions.Storage Network
Needs: Familiar with networking requirements for distributed
storage solutions.Detail Oriented: Passionate about addressing
details to ensure quality implementations.Security Certifications:
Security+ CE or equivalent, or ability to get Security+ within 90
days of hire.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Top Secret clearance with
SCI.Experience in automating administrative tasks using PowerShell
or other scripting languages.Experience using automated deployment
services like Ansible a plus.Familiarity with SQL commands.Working
knowledge of Virtual Machine (VM) technologies (ESXi, VCenter,
VSphere, VMware).
Experience in Linux system
administration is a plus.Ability to rapidly adapt to new
technologies.Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $92290 -
$156860Please note: This range is based on our market pay
structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and
