Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Sr. Director HEOR is responsible for developing and executing the value evidence generation and dissemination strategy for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). The leader will oversee strategic planning and execution for all activities involved in developing HEOR strategies and tactics in order to gain and maintain market access and reimbursement for assigned product or indication. This will include the development of value story, value dossiers, economic models, and planning for HTA reviews to demonstrate the value of ACADIA’s therapies in the US. The role will also deliver distinctive ways to disseminate evidence appropriately to demonstrate compelling value propositions for population health decision-makers/payers. This position reports to the VP, Health Economics and Outcomes Research.

Primary Responsibilities:

Build & implement the strategy for HEOR evidence generation & dissemination within an assigned area

Lead delivery of value evidence generation strategies throughout life cycle

Drive high quality evidence generation methodologies and execution of timely deliverables

Oversee and guide development and implementation of patient reported outcomes (PRO) end points strategy

Ensure the work delivered by HEOR in the assigned area achieves goals and objectives of the company

Represent HEOR on various cross-functional teams in commercial/scientific areas

Direct and implement relevant HEOR initiatives with external entities

Contribute to development and execution of overall and HEOR specific publication plans

Establish an integrated HEOR plan aligned with Commercial, Market Access, and Scientific objectives

Provide strategic guidance on optimal medical support for managed markets and LTC accounts and stakeholders

Education/Experience/Skills:

The Sr. Director-level candidate will have either a master’s degree or equivalent experience in a HEOR-related field (e.g., Public Health, Economics, Epidemiology, Health Services Research (or similar)) and at least 8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry; OR a doctorate degree in health services research, pharmacy, medicine, public health, economics, (or similar), and at least 5 years’ experience in global biopharmaceutical or medical device industry.

Experience in OR research methodologies (retrospective observational cohort, cross-sectional studies, registries, etc.) to support product development and reimbursement efforts is required

Experience in neurology or psychiatry and experience with interactions with US and European reimbursement agencies is preferred

Experience in clinical, business, and strategic initiatives at a managed care and/or long-term care organization and has comprehensive market segment understanding is preferred

Must possess:

Understanding of the global healthcare environment, clinical research processes, global federal regulations, and ethical guidelines

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven meeting planning and team facilitation skills

Ability to create, track and plan timelines and budgets

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills

Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving capabilities

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc.) and knowledge of database management (Veeva Vault, etc.)

Travel (15-25%) for conferences, meetings, and HEOR project or team-management related business

Scope:

Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways, exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
