Sr. In Vivo Specialist, San Diego, CA, Full Time with BenefitsIn-Vivo Specialist needed immediately in San Diego, CA.-- This is a direct Hire opportunity with 100% paid medical benefits for individual and family, looking for someone to start ASAPThis Specialist will provide the daily care of research animals for experimental purposes, including surgery and post-operative care. Responsible for overseeing procurement of animals and supplies, preventative maintenance of facility equipment, daily rounds and observation to check animal health status. Coordinates with vendors and supervisors on operational, administrative and technical responsibilities.RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides expertise and assists with surgical procedures (orbital bleed, cardiopuncture bleed, intravenous injection, Intraperitoneal injection, intradermal injection and subcutaneously injection), tumor measurement, handling and tissue collection (liver, lung, tumor, spleen and DLN) in animals.
• Serves as an expert resource for rodent and small animal handling, small animal imaging, carrying out biological procedures, assist with training personnel and execute studies.
• Interacts with scientists on a regular basis to understand the needs and goals of the projects and help coordinate logistics of the research.
• Maintains breeding.
• Cleans, maintains, and sterilizes instruments and equipment.
• Maintains animal census, conducts overall health checks and orders laboratory reagents.Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant biological discipline (life sciences or Veterinary Technology, RVT, AHT) AALAS certification (LAT, LATG, CMAR) or a combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in animal care and technology including:
  • Experience in surgical procedures on rodents
  • Experience with tissue collection
