diabetes management around the world. Summary: The --Staff Product
Owner --collaborates with the Data Platforms technical leaders and
Project Managers to lead the build-out of Dexcom's next-generation
data platforms and productized data services which support
customer-facing products, partner ecosystems, and analytics.--In
this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the right
platform features are built through gathering and prioritizing
platform requirements with input from the platform customers -
i.e., downstream consumers of data services.-- You will work
closely with the development team to communicate platform features,
priorities, and requirements. This is a high visibility, hands-on
position that requires commitment, ownership, flexibility, careful
planning, and attention to details. Responsibilities:
- Excel at managing multiple product components and workstreams
simultaneously
- Competency with various user story, backlog, and roadmap
estimation techniques to ensure externally committed dates are
met
- You must demonstrate the ability to lead requirements and
design definition of complex and often ambiguous technical
components
- You will influence technical teams to execute your product
backlog as an individual contributor where individuals are not
directly accountable to you
- Be comfortable managing conflicting priorities, scope changes,
and stakeholder expectations
- Be familiar with and quickly conduct impact/tradeoff analysis
when needed in response to changing priorities
- Contribute to the platform strategy and roadmap definition in
collaboration with others on the team ensuring alignment of company
objectives, product vision and customer feedback
- Responsible for platform and services definition: necessary
features and functionality and the release criteria (product
requirements document)
- Be the go-to source of knowledge for all components of the
end-to-end platform
- Effectively communicate the platform vision and requirements to
the development team
- Engage frequently with the development team: facilitate
discussions, provide clarification, provide input on requirement
acceptance and refinement, testing and validation, contribute to
design activities and decisions
- Interface with the engineering leadership to identify
requirements and convert them into executable stories for software
development using the Agile method
- Make trade-off decisions between possible and desirable, which
requires a good sense of what is technically feasible
- Review detailed technical requirements and specifications
documentation to ensure that the product being built aligns with
the product vision
- Evaluate competitors and the market for capability-oriented and
emerging development and technology trends
- Coordinate go-to-market planning as appropriate for any
launches impacting end-customers and partners
- You will lead product strategy and roadmap for account
management components central to Dexcom apps and services
- You will define complex features that are critical to cross
functional teams and our customers
- Experiencing managing product execution using a variety of
coexisting methodologies (ie, Agile, Waterfall) is preferred -
experience scaling agile is a plus
- Familiarity with IAM, account management systems, UX/CX best
practices or willingness to learn is necessary
- Firm understanding of data privacy, data governance,
cybersecurity - including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA will be
needed to develop critical backlog components-- Qualifications:
- Experience in building customer facing websites and native
applications ( iOS and Android) applications that are used by
millions of users.
- Must be familiar with API technical terminology areas such as
REST APIs, GraphQL, request/responses, METHODS, endpoints
- Ability to formulate and conduct primary and secondary research
to identify and prioritize
- Passionate about Identity and Access Management with background
in OAuth 2.0, OpenID connect, SAML, Single Sign On and API
authorization/access management
- Prior experience in areas like password management, encryption,
two factor authentication, Biometrics and customer
authentication
- Competent with offerings in the "Identity as a Service" space
from players like Okta, Auth0 or Google Firebase
Authentication--
- Data platforms or database software product management
experience preferred
- Demonstrated team player with ability to coordinate multiple
projects in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
- Problem solver with the ability to effectively communicate
technical solutions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak
effectively to clients and internal teams
- Comfortable leading meetings and writing documents for senior
leadership and stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a coordinating role across
multiple disciplines, a strong, open and collaborative work style,
a customer-service orientation with the ability to translate
business goals into technical requirements
- Ability to gain buy-in as needed Experience and Education
Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical
discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or
Master's degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a
PhD and 2-4 years of experience. Functional Description:--
Functions as a key stakeholder of a project and represents the
customer to the development team. Responsible to have a vision of
what he or she wishes to build, and convey the vision to the scrum
team in order to successfully start an agile software development
project. Oversees the product backlog, which is a prioritized
features list for the product. Responsible for creating the list of
backlog items and prioritizing them based on the overall strategy
and business objectives. Responsible for bridging the gap between
customer needs and delivery of the tangible product features, by
translating customer language into technical details the developers
can interpret to initiate development. Prioritizes the product
backlog during the sprint planning meeting, selects the amount of
work to be done during each sprint, and how many sprints will be
required. Works with the development team to answer any questions
team members have regarding the customer's view of how they're
implementing a product feature. Seen as an expert at understanding
and anticipating the client's needs to more effectively manage the
