MaxLinear is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our team. You will design and develop firmware and Linux-based software for complex SoCs targeting Distributed Access Architecture for next generation cable networks. You will contribute in full life-cycle software development including architectural design, implementation, testing and interoperability. In this role, you will focus on: + Firmware development on RTOS in microcontrollers and Linux based software development on host processors + System performance optimization, profiling, emulation, software integration and board bring up + Drive test methodologies, test automation, regressions across chips and SDKs + Ensuring interoperability + Support, maintain, and document software APIs, features, and user documentations + Excellent programming skills + Fluency in C and demonstrated experience with development of firmware targeting complex SoCs + In depth knowledge of physical layer/ data link layer/ network layer in one/more than one communication or networking devices + Real time operating systems + Working experience in Emulation platforms / FPGAs + Experience in working with large code bases + Ability to excel in a dynamic environment with changing requirements and priorities + Experience with the following are beneficial but not required: + DOCSIS 3.0/3.1/4.0 MAC and Physical layer + TCP/IP, L2TP, Ethernet protocol basics + Python + Working knowledge of test equipment such as signal generator, spectrum analyzer, Oscilloscopes, DOCSIS analyzer, traffic generator etc. + BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related + 7 years of experience, or MS + 5 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 2 years of experience MaxLinear is a global, New York Stock Exchange-traded company (NYSE: MXL) where the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well.
