Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT) is a global leader in Multimedia integrated circuits (ICs), software and systems for wireless consumer devices including Smartphones, Netbooks and E-readers. Our teams are developing advanced technologies to enhance mobile devices in areas including 2D and 3D graphics, audio/video, display and architecture. These Multimedia ASICS are co-designed with our Modems, Applications Processors, Analog Codecs and Power Management ICs to deliver highly-integrated, high-performance and low-cost chipsets to our customers and partners. You will be implementing the industry's leading edge graphics processor, specific areas include 2D and 3D graphics, streaming processor, high speed IO interface and bus protocols. In this position,

Responsibilities:

Definition of next generation of GPU power architecture requirements for max PPA under high performance constraints - GPU & battery power and thermal restrictions

Develop power management accelerators and hardware micro-architectural specifications

Drive algorithm development for system power minimization with hardware and software collaborators

Drive roadmap updates through pre-silicon execution phase (verification and emulation) with collaborators

Ensure productization of power features with firmware and software collaborators

Collaborate with SOC architects, product teams and GPU hardware and software teams to ensure continued roadmap updates from generation to generation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of power design, power management & power architecture experience.
  • 5+ ASIC design experience.
  • Strong background in system and hardware design.
  • Strong background in power methodology, power architecture, power management design and sensor (analog/digital) usage for high performance and low power.
  • Strong background in micro-controllers and design of solutions (HW-SW) for execution of power and thermal management algorithms for highest battery level perf/watt.
  • Strong understanding of multi clock design concepts
  • RTL expertise (Verilog / SystemVerilog)
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Expect good self-direction and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with GPU Power Management
  • Experience with Computer Architecture, C/C++ programming
  • Verification of low power designs & testplan development
  • Familiarity with AMBA protocols
  • Experience in Embedded System Design
  • Experience with system debug tools (like T32)
  • Experience with FW/HW debug utilizing Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscope
  • Experience with some or all of the following: power target definition, voltage droop detection & mitigation.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
