Position Summary

The Program Specialist II is responsible for working directly with the Director of Workforce Programs and the Healthcare team to provide contract oversight and support workforce development programs and funded partners. This individual supports Workforce Partnership with the implementation of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity (WIOA) and special grant funded programs.

The Work

Program and Case Management

  • Management and authorization of training funds for subrecipients.
  • Review, process & submit agreements and invoices for training funds.
  • Assist with coordination and development of special projects and pilot programs.
  • Input data into database and Customer Reporting Management (CRM) systems.
  • Provide case management, as needed, to program participants
  • Participate in trainings for providers and subrecipients.

    Operational and Fiscal Management
    • Prepare internal and external reports, analyzing issues and ensuring accuracy.
    • Participate in procurement process of requests for quotes (RFQ's), requests for proposals (RFP's) and request for bids (RFB's)
    • Prepare presentations, agendas, and note taking for meetings.
    • Assistance in preparing and routing purchase orders for Programs Department
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Participate in outreach events and meetings to recruit participants
    • Prepare and present programs verbally or through written and/or graphic materials to a variety of groups including stakeholders, Workforce Partnership partners and community groups as required

        What You Bring

        • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of program / case management equivalent experience
        • Minimum of three years' experience in program implementation and/or case management
        • Proven ability to identify new methods, better approaches, and integration of other ideas
        • Program specific contract development and modification.
        • Ability to meet people where they are at
        • Demonstrates integrity and strives for excellence in their work
        • Strong ability to build effective relationships with teammates and partner organizations
        • Passionate about continuous improvement.
        • A great eye for detail and ideas for improvement on writing content, aesthetics, etc.
        • Outstanding writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
        • Skilled with Microsoft Office, Internet, and database management.
