Serves as a representative to patients, utilizing professional customer service skills. Works closely with physicians, managers, and office staff in coordinating patient care. This role includes all aspects of appointment scheduling.If you are located in Vista, CA, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answers, screens, processes, and documents incoming calls efficiently and professionally. Effective use of both EPM and EHR system applications to manage patient inquiries and requests
  • Assists patients by determining needs, scheduling and/or canceling appointments, or referring them to the correct staff person
  • Consistently uses standardized work protocols to provide efficient and effective productivity
  • Verifies insurance eligibility updating information as needed
  • Answers phones, transfers calls and communicate messages from patients to physicians, medical assistants, and office staff when appropriate
  • Keeps updated on current provider schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and notified of any schedule changes
  • Appropriately facilitates and communicates, written or verbal messages
  • Responds appropriately to patient requests for prescription refills adhering to OCMG Protocols
  • Responds appropriately to patient requests regarding order, referrals and/or results adhering to OCMG Protocols
  • Responds appropriately and timely to patient concerns and/or needs
  • Ensures all work is being performed according to company policies, procedures, and standardsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
    • High school graduate or GED
    • 1+ years of experience working in a clinical setting; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 1+ years of experience in Customer Service
    • Experience with data entry
    • Experience with insurance verifications
    • Experience in patient scheduling and registration
    • Proficient in Practice Management System
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel and OutlookPreferred Qualifications:
      • ICD 10 and CPT coding experience
      • Experience working in a call center environment, medical office or working as a patient liaison
      • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
      • Knowledge of Medi - Cal / Medicaid benefits or Insurance plans
