Job DescriptionAccent Controls, Inc. is seeking a full-time, exempt Security Specialist for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution, located in San Diego, CA. Contract date 01SEP21JOB SUMMARY:The Security Specialist Analyzes, plans, advises, operates, or evaluates the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting classified information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss. Responsibilities involve program planning, program evaluation, identifying and resolving security related issues, and advising organizational leadership on appropriate Physical Security, Operational Security (OPSEC) and Antiterrorism/ Force Protection (AT/FP) measures. Duties also include developing, evaluating, maintaining, and/or operating systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and materials; and/or developing and implementing policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to manage, understand and execute various tasks IAW with site established Security program. Capable of managing the program and meeting required company and contract metrics.
  • Provide recommendations to management. Organize, implement, and execute process improvements plans throughout functional areas.
  • In coordination with management, Ability to build, organize, implement, and execute a training program and develop Standard Operation Procedures for Safety and Security Program.
  • Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, site management and CGA regarding operations and policies at the Distribution Center.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance Plan, Storage Plan and workload requirements.
  • Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Experience shall include a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Physical Security, Operational Security (OPSEC) and Antiterrorism/Force Protection within the past five (5) years.SUMMARY OF JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Must be U.S. Citizen
    • Possess a valid Driver's License
    • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
    • Capable of establishing and maintaining programs IAW established local policies and procedures
    • Skilled in planning, controlling, managing, multi-tasking and being responsible for the successful completion of work requirements.
    • Ensure work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources.
    • Familiar with US Government contracts, regulations, and policies.
    • Computer literate with proven experience in desktop computer operating system preferably Microsoft programs: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Office.
    • Ability to provide professional, effective oversight in a challenging work environment.
    • Ability to successfully completion of WMS training, OSHA compliance, DLA SOP training and various company training requirements. MISCELLANEOUS / OTHER:Ability to stand, squat, and have full range of motion, wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed for job duties, lift at least 40 pounds, and see, hear and respond to dangerous situations.This job description is meant to be a guide.
