We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our
Mission Payloads & Exploitation (MPEx) group.
In this position you will support the Weapons Systems Project
Engineering function to perform System Engineering activities for
weapons integrations on Unmanned Aircraft (UA) programs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop Interface Control Documents, Software Requirement
Specifications, Performance Specifications, presentations and
review test plans/procedures.
- Perform system analysis, generate requirements, and develop
system designs.
- Support the development of test plans and manage the
integration, verification and validation of weapons through flight
test.
- Devises new approaches to resolve unusual or complex
engineering problems.
- Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements,
difficult coordination requirements, and special material
requirements.
- Coordinate and interface with customers, contractors, and
engineering groups assigned to projects.
- Develop program plans, estimates, and schedules.
- Development and presentation of technical material for
review.
- Supports operation of engineering systems and documents any
problems.
- Provide support for proposals/white papers.
- Represent company at technical reviews, meetings and system
level integrations.
- Provides direction to design or technical staff and may lead a
team of moderately experienced professional staff.We recognize and

Job Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in
engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited
institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four
or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more
years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute
equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Demonstrates an extensive technical expertise and application
of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the
ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate
workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some
experience in project leadership.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and
apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
are required enabling an effective interface with other departments
and/or professionals, and capable of representing the organization
as a prime technical contact, as well as providing leadership and
guidance to less experienced professionals.
- Ability to read and understand Interface Control Documents
- Experience working with MIL-STD-1760 Aircraft/Store Electrical
Interconnection System including MIL-STD-1553 data communication
interface
- Experience working with Universal Armament Interface (UAI)
- Experience working in a test environment
- Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of
innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering
problems.
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team
environment.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
- A Professional Engineering License, original work(s) published
in professional engineering journals, and invited to present one or
more original works to an engineering symposium are desirable.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is
required.
