issues. Sr. Scientist I: New Dye Development BD Biosciences is a
leader in dye development and multicolor flow cytometry. We are
seeking an outstanding Senior Scientist to join our highly
motivated research and development team to continue this exciting
work. This individual will be responsible for the evaluation and
development of new fluorchromes for use in various flow cytometry
systems. This includes evaluating early dye prototypes and
providing feedback aimed at improving the candidates (brightness,
spectral overlap, etc) as well as taking final dye candidates
through the product development process. Expected to set up and
execute experiments independently the successful candidate will be
detail oriented, skilled at data analysis and trouble shooting and
will be accountable for preparing and presenting data to
management. Responsibilities include: Design and perform single and
multi-color flow cytometry experiments Being a driver for best
practices in flow cytometry Communicate data and plans to
leadership Serve as a resource to other scientists to guide
experimental design and analysis Lead and drive completion of
milestones associated with specific projects, where failure to
achieve results may cause delays in program schedules Strong sense
of customer requirements and leading marketing projects for launch
requirements Intellectually contribute to the development of assay
protocols and SOPs Promoting a safe work environment. Offer
recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment.
Participate in addressing corrective actions whenever a hazard is
identified. Notify supervisor of all observed unsafe work
practices. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Requires experience designing,
performing, and analyzing flow cytometry experiments, preferably on
BD flow cytometers Strong understanding of flow cytometry
principles and instrumentation, hands on experience changing
filters and detectors is preferred Strong knowledge of immunology
demonstrated by publication record, meeting attendance and
established relationships with key opinion leaders Excellent
interpersonal, oral and written communication skills History of
demonstrating strong analytical problem solving skills, scientific
rigor and attention to detail in experimental design and execution
A demonstrated proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic
Effective working on individual projects or as part of a larger
team Demonstrated organizational, time management, and planning
skills to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: PhD in Immunology (or a related life
science discipline) or greater than 6 years relevant experience is
preferred. Minimum of 4 years of experience operating a flow
cytometer For certain roles at BD, employment sufficient proof that
