Sciences (DDS) department at Takeda is seeking a talented mass
spectrometrist to design, develop, and implement MS experiments to
support drug discovery projects aimed at the identification,
validation and characterization of small molecules interacting with
biomolecular targets, including proteins and RNAs. You will
implement various MS approaches including MS-based HTS strategies
(ASMS), Native MS, Ion mobility MS, peptide mapping, HDX- depending
on project needs. You will collaborate with internal and external
partners to accelerate drug discovery programs in the areas of
Oncology, GI, Neurosciences and Rare Diseases. You should have a
track record in the characterization of small molecules
interactions with proteins and RNAs and the use of MS methods to
drive compound optimization.
- Manage the design, development, and implementation of MS
experiments to support drug discovery projects, and characterize
small molecule interactions with potential drug targets (proteins
and RNAs)
- Must possess extensive experience and understanding of various
MS approaches including peptide mapping strategies, ASMS, Native MS
and Ion mobility MS, HDX.
- Operate and maintain different types of mass spectrometers,
including a Q Exactive Orbitrap coupled with LEAP PAL2 robot and
QTOF coupled with HPLC, 2D-LC Q-TOF instruments (agilent
infinity-II, 6530C Q-TOF jet stream etc)
- Proficient in using MS analysis software (e.g. masshunter,
virscidian)
- Perform quantitative mass spectrometry based strategies
including isotopic labeling, SILAC, and label-free analysis
- In-depth understanding of qualitative and quantitative protein
analyses using chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry
with advanced data interpretation skills
