Northrop Grumman Aeronautics has an opening within the NATO Test
Integrated Product Team (IPT). We are looking for a highly
motivated individual to join as a Lead System Test Engineer. The
ideal candidate should be detail oriented, and have the ability to
focus on the first time quality, engineering rigor, and Test Like
You Fly methodology. This position will be located in San Diego,
CA.
Responsibilities include working with STE Teammates, Test IPT
Leadership, Lab Operations Leadership, and Test Planning and
Execution (TP&E) teams to successfully plan, and execution dry
run and formal test activities to evaluated, and certify hardware
and software for ground and flight release. Must have the ability
to communicate up to leadership, and across to teammates and team
members. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and
collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Essential Functions:
- Development and execution of System Level 3 Test Procedures to
verify system requirements, and validate overall system under
test
- Interface and present test integration and execution results to
program and test leadership at Pre- and Post-Test Reviews
- Work independently on assigned tasks to meet deadlines on one or
more test programs
- Flexibility to support weekends, multiple shifts, and off
hours.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology,
Engineering or Math) with 9 years of related engineering
experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 7 years of related
engineering experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 4 years of related
engineering experience.
- Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance, or
higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience developing and executing System level test
procedures
- Understanding of Agile Test methodology
- Prior experience with System Level Lab Test Execution
- Prior experience with hot bench and overall lab operations
support
- Prior experience with flight test planning, coordination of
events, and execution
- Willingness to travel up to 10% in support of ground and flight
test events
- Understanding of verification program and metrics maintenance
- DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Experience with Python and/or Java
- Experience using UI automation software (TestComplete)
Salary Range: $114,500 USD - $171,500 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
