Northrop Grumman Aerospace Sector is seeking a motivated Principal Engineer / Sr. Principal Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation to perform analysis activities in the System Analysis and Simulation organization. This individual will be responsible for executing Modeling and Simulation, and Mission Analysis efforts for autonomous systems, manned ISR and BMC2 platforms and future growth opportunities. This position develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. Simulates real-time operations and develops software that simulates behavior of systems. Develops integrates and uses advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures. Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis. This position is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA or Melbourne, FL. This position can be filled at either the Principal or Sr. Principal level based on the qualifications below. Essential Functions: Conduct system level modeling, simulation and analysis of mission relevant scenarios for NGAS Global Surveillance business pursuits
Ensure appropriate communications up and down the chain of command including providing management briefings as well as status reports and metrics on the health of the projects. Engage in frequent interaction with the customers and other IPTs
Candidate will provide technical leadership to a team of system engineers/ analysts in the areas of Modeling and Simulation (M&S), Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A), and Mission/ Operational/ Impact Analysis
Interact as a team player/ leader utilizing strong analytical skills Basic Qualifications: Principal Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 5 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's in STEM with 3 years of related experience, or a PhD in STEM and 1 year of related experience
Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 9 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's in STEM with 7 years of related experience, or a PhD in STEM and 4 year of related experience
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation), must have ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading a team
Working knowledge in various aspects of Unmanned Aerial Systems (air vehicle, ground station, operations, sensor payloads, and/or communications) and Manned ISR and BMC2 Platforms
Direct experience in M&S/ Analysis methodologies and tools/standards (such as MATLAB or STK or AFSIM or DIS etc.) or M&S VV&A process
Active TS/SCI clearance preferred
Excellent communication skills Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
