About this role: The Accounts Receivable Clerk provides accounting support to the Accounts Receivable and General Ledger areas of the Accounting Department. Pay range, Status & Schedule: This is a non-exempt position working Monday thru Friday 7:30 am to 4:15 pm with a one-hour lunch, paying between $17.00 to $20.00 per hour. What you'll do: Prepares, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions using the company software. Prepares deposit batches and may either do a remote or physical bank deposits. Prepares and balances the Cash Worksheet on a daily basis. Researches and reconciles payments, customer discrepancies and past-due amounts. Reconciles subsidiary accounts on a periodic basis. Generates and sends out monthly billing statements to customers. Copies, files, and retrieves materials for Accounts Receivable, as needed. Relays information to appropriate employees and departments maintaining confidentiality of data, at all times. Processes adjustments and credit memos. Assists with month-end closing. Performs other related duties, as assigned. What you'll need: Associates Degree in Accounting, or relevant field. At least three years of Accounts Receivable experience. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping. Good knowledge of Accounts Receivable principles. Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deal with problems effectively and promptly and interact professionally with customers. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong team player willing to take on new tasks to help in other areas of the Accounting Dept., if needed. Other requirements: Incumbent must have reliable transportation.
