Job Description:
Eastridge Workforce Solutions is seeking a Sr. Supplier Quality
Specialist for our client in San Diego, CA.Job Summary:The Senior
Supplier Quality Specialist (SSQS) will perform product safety risk
management activities for materials, suppliers, external
manufacturing facilities and other services relevant to the safe
production of cell-cultured seafood products. The SSQS will
collaborate with multiple departments to ensure supplier
evaluations and material risk assessments are properly completed to
identify risk and ensure appropriate due diligence is given to
mitigate risks related to suppliers and materials. The SSQS will
partner with vendors to ensure materials, supplier sources, and
external manufacturers comply with minimum product safety, quality,
and regulatory standards and assess preventative controls to ensure
material and supplier risk evaluations meets requirements.Essential
Responsibilities:Manage Supply Chain Preventive Controls and
Foreign Supplier Verification Programs.Coordinate and work
collaboratively with R&D and Procurement on supplier and
material risk assessment and approval processes to ensure the use
of approved suppliers and materials that meet the company's
requirements.Manage the supplier and related material risk
assessment process to identify and prioritize supplier verification
requirements based on performance, product risk, and quality/food
safety system document review.Perform initial and routine quality
and food safety audits of suppliers when required and manage the
corrective action process.Perform and execute supplier and material
risk management activities and write supply chain preventive
control plans when there is a reasonable/foreseeable hazard.Work
cross cross-functionally to create and update specifications.Manage
supplier database in TraceGains, monitoring supplier & material
information and ensuring the supplier quality management
information is kept up to date.Participate in out-of-specification
(OOS) investigation activities between in-house Laboratory,
R&D, Regulatory, and Quality departments to determine the
proper disposition of raw materials.Interface with supplier quality
representatives concerning problems with quality control and ensure
effective corrective actions are implemented.Manage Supplier Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quality and food
safety.Actively communicate relevant supplier and material
information regarding trends, data, needs, non-compliances,
internal and external audits, surveys, etc.Assist in implementing
standardized Food Safety policies and procedures to ensure
compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (FDA, SQF,
etc.)Support on-site and virtual audits conducted by external
providers, including state and federal FDA inspections.Perform any
other tasks as requested by management to support project
milestones and product launchEngage in proactive measures to
promote a positive safety culture while ensuring all applicable
Safety, Health and Environment requirements are fulfilled in
alignment with corporate policy and local legal
requirements.Travel:Limited (Minimum Qualifications:B.A. or B.S.
degree (preferably in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or
other related Life Science and 5 to 7 years work experience in the
food industry with 3-5 years working in supplier quality.PCQI and
FSVP qualificationsKnowledge of cGMPs, HACCP, HARPC and 21CFR 117
and/or 123 regulatory requirementsExperience with TraceGains or
other supplier document management database strongly preferredFood
safety auditing experienceKnowledge of food safety certification
schemes such as SQF, BRC or FSSSC 22000High level of technical
expertise, ownership, and practical knowledge of QA/regulatory
programsMust have excellent interpersonal communication skillsMust
be proficient in Word, Excel, and other MS Office programsData
collection, management, and analytical skillsStrong analytical and
fact-based problem-solving skillsExceptional planning and
organizational skillsTravel required - estimated Legally authorized
