Apple's Interactive Media Group (IMG) is looking for a creative, self motivated and dedicated software engineer to join the Connected Media Streaming AirPlay Audio team with a focus on building new audio features. This team builds the foundations of AirPlay, that powers the customer experience of iOS, macOS and tvOS real time AirPlay audio, and focuses on future directions.

The Interactive Media Group (IMG) provides the media and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products including iPhone, iPad, Mac, AppleTV, and operating systems. Combining ground breaking software techniques with next-generation hardware, IMG takes the media experience to the next level.

Key Qualifications

* Strong programming skills with C and/or C++
* Expertise in real time audio programming and/or audio drivers
* Experience debugging problems in a highly concurrent environment
* Experience with using and developing media libraries especially for mobile platforms

Description

The Connected Media group is looking for a senior software engineer to join our team to work on AirPlay Audio. We are looking for expert developers that have debugged complex and layered software stacks. You will be curious, self-motivated, and thorough when they approach new challenges. As an engineer on our team you will be responsible for crafting and implementing new features in AirPlay across our product lines. You will be able to collaborate effectively on a team, and thrives in a dynamic, highly fluid environment.

Education & Experience

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent

Additional Requirements

* Experience programming on embedded systems
* Experience with using and developing media libraries especially for mobile platforms
* Excellent communication and reciprocal skills
* Familiarity with inner workings of media systems and audio/video codecs
* Familiarity with network media streaming protocols such as RTP and RTSP
* Familiarity with the TCP/IP suite of protocols
* An Upbeat, adaptable, and results oriented with a positive attitude
