About Encodia

Encodia is a rapidly growing platform company that is developing a new generation of protein analysis tools based on single-molecule protein sequencing. Our goal is to make protein sequencing easy and ubiquitous by using a novel reverse-translation technology that turns peptide sequences into DNA. The DNA can be read by a DNA sequencer, providing a path to breakthrough proteomics research at a scale that is not practical or cost-effective using current technologies.
Job Summary

As a Senior Manufacturing Technician in the Reagent Manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the manufacturing and quality control of reagent consumables including proteins and buffers. You will also be responsible for working with and troubleshooting equipment and instruments used to formulate, fill, and kit reagents.
Responsibilities

• Formulation of reagents and buffers according to SOPs/WIs/BRs. This will include expression (E. coli fermentation) and purification of protein products.
• Analysis and QC testing of formulated reagents via standard lab techniques
• Filling and kitting of formulated reagents and buffers
• Collection and basic analysis of process data
• Maintain a correct inventory of materials through cycle counts, receipt of materials, and processing inventory movement transactions accurately
• Assist in continuous improvement and troubleshooting of formulations, filling processes, kitting, analytical techniques
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to support R&D and process improvement activities to meet production goals
• Escalate issues to support groups and leadership in a clear, concise, and timely manner
• Other duties as assigned
  Requirements
  What you bring to this Role
  
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or other related life science discipline, with 2-3 years relevant experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Hands-on experience with pipettors, liquid handlers, pH and conductivity meters, UV-vis, and other standard lab equipment
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and flexible
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous, keen attention to detail and organized; good powers of observation.
  • A positive attitude and sense of urgency Highly Desirable
    
    • Familiarity with Batch Records/Work Instructions/Standard Operating Procedures
    • Start-up culture experience - comfortable in working with ambiguity and at a fast pace
    • Flexibility to work Tuesday-Saturday when required

      Compensation: $65,000-$86,500/year. While compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role
