Job Description:

The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.

Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Peraton Team on the Overmatch Software Armory (OSA) Tools Support Program.

Peraton provides Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific with engineering support for the Overmatch Software Armory (OSA) Tools Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) pipeline (formerly known as Collaborative Software Armory (CSA)). The OSA is a Department of the Navy (DoN) Environment available through the Navy Research and Development Establishment (NR&DE), which hosts vetted tools, processes, and methodologies that combine cybersecurity with continuous development and operations. The OSA Tools Environment is hosted within the commercial cloud environment and provides developers an accelerated application environment for planning, managing, designing, building, testing, and integrating secure and assured software.

NIWC Pacific requires engineering support to analyze OSA project requirements and to develop and implement recommended solutions. Professional support services may include in-depth technical analysis of the project, pipeline support, change management, and training. These services will enable NIWC Pacific to transition from current hosting environments to the OSA environment up to Impact Level (IL) 6.

What you'll do:

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

* Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.
* Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
* Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
* Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements.
* Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.
* Designs interfaces and brings system elements together, so they work as a whole.
* Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
* Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
* Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements.
* Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
* Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
* Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Required qualifications:

* BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10 or equivalent combined experience/education.
* Candidate must be a US Citizen.
* Active/Current DoD Secret or Top Secret (SCI eligible) clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days.
* Certifications Required: IAT level II certification (e.g. Security+ or, A+ and Network+) and complete the required operating system (OS) courses to obtain certifications.
* 2+ years of experience in high level research, analysis or design of new or improved communications or networking systems, equipment, components or circuitry.
* 2+ years of experience in the performance of investigation of proposed equipment suites for feasibility of design and preparation of impact statements and alternative approaches, as applicable in support of communications and message networking programs.

Desired qualifications:

* 3 years of experience working with software development, system/software architecture, systems engineering, utilizing an agile development methodology with proven delivery to production.
* 2 years of recent demonstrated experience with administering Linux and Windows servers, implementing and maintaining virtual machines within the VMware vSphere. Experience monitoring and securing both classified and unclassified servers via proper STIG and IA compliance.

Colorado Salary Minimum: $51,500

Colorado Salary Maximum: $124,800

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
