team in the Sterile Processing department at La Jolla where we work
very closely with the Surgery department in a collaborative and
fast-paced environment. You will be working with a detail-oriented
team that is proud to have zero incidents of bioburden. Our
leadership team provides amazing support to the staff, and the
surgeons we support have great respect for the team.\n\n The
Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning,
packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of medical
instruments, equipment, and supplies used for patient care. You
will also:\n\n\n\tClean and disinfect equipment requiring
decontamination or sterilization according to designated principles
of asepsis.\n\tResponsible for testing and recording of sterilizer
equipment performance to ensure operating within sterility
standards.\n\tMaintain established control systems for supplies and
equipment processed.\n\n\n This is a full time 10 hour evening
shift position with benefits.\n\n \n\n \n\n The following are not
eligible for hiring incentives:\n\n\n\tInternal
candidates\n\tRehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago\n\n\n
In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the
following criteria must be met\n\n\n\tMust remain in original hired
FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)\n\tMust remain
in original department/specialty\n\tMust remain in original Job
Title\n\tTransfers to other locations will be reviewed on a
case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive
bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.\n\n Required
Experience/Specialized Skills:\n\n\n\tCompletion of college
training program for SPD or online study program or completion of
formal on the job training program.\n\tKnowledge of sterilizers,
surgical instrumentation, and medical equipment.\n\tExcellent
communication and customer service skills.\n\tCertified Registered
Central Service Technician (CRCST) or CBSPD Certification\n\tOne
year of experience in SPD in lieu of certification acceptable upon
hire, but CRCST or CBSPD Certification must be obtained within 6
months of hire.\n\n\n Preferred:\n\n\n\t2+ years of experience\n\n
