Summary
You will serve as a Mission Support Specialist in the Office of the Judge Advocate General of RLSO SOUTHWEST SAN DIEGO CA.
This announcement uses the Post-Secondary Students and Recent Graduates direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

    Duties
    • You will serve as the primary liaison for all incoming contacts and maintain a positive working relationship with all personnel, callers, and visitors.
    • You will answer incoming phone calls, inquiries from visitors using discretion and referring calls/visitors accordingly.
    • You will be responsible for maintaining records and files in accordance with prescribed regulations and policies.
    • You will be responsible for preparing various weekly, monthly and annual reports as requested.
    • You will conduct initial quality assurance review of case/client files to ensure all documents are complete and meet legal requirements.

        Qualifications
        Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Responding to routine and highly technical requests for information; 2) Utilizing various databases to store, maintain, and track both military and civilian case files for the organization; 3) Preparing court documents, filings, and case correspondence; 4) Researching, evaluating, and coordinating information to identify and verify all relevant facts in a particular case; and 5) Coordinating case tracking, updates, and filings for both military and civilian court systems.

        Post Secondary Students Must be a currently enrolled in a full-time program at an institution of higher education as defined in 20 U.S.C. - 1001 and provide proof of continuous enrollment (i.e., documentation of registration or tuition bill from the college or university) at the time of application and have completed at least one full year of their academic program. Students must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 2.0 or greater, and making satisfactory progress towards the receipt of a bachelor's or graduate degree.
        Recent Graduates Recent Graduates must be appointed within two years of being awarded a bachelor's or graduate degree from a qualifying educational institution as defined in 20 U.S.C. - 1001.The two year period of eligibility will be extended to four years for veterans who have completed a period of obligated uniformed service of more than 4 years, and was awarded a degree by an institution of higher education not more than 4 years before the date of appointment.
        Individuals selected for these positions may be required to sign and adhere to a program participation agreement and/or an individual development plan.
        Post-Secondary Students on Term appointments may be non-competitively converted to a permanent, competitive service, career-conditional appointment upon completion of all academic program requirements. Conversion to a permanent appointment is not automatic, nor guaranteed.
