ThePAINTER'sessential purpose istoensure optimal quality and condition of paint and other finishes on all resort structures and furnishings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:

  • To satisfactorily perform, as directed, routine painting and finishing tasks, including preparation, taping, product selection, and application.
  • Responsible for responding to, opening and/or closing projects in the HotSOS program.
  • To perform basic wallpaper and wall vinyl installation and repairs.
  • To perform glazing type finishes and fine detail type painting.
  • To blend custom colors, as needed.
  • To perform minor repairs of stucco and plaster finishes, both interior and exterior, as directed.
  • To repair interior drywall, as needed.
  • To communicate all guest requests to an appropriate supervisor in a timely and professional manner.

    The expected base wage range for this position is: $16.30 to $28.09 per hour. This position may be eligible for additional compensation according to the Company's policies, as they may be amended from time to time.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: Able to read, speak, and write English, and to follow simple verbal directions. High School graduate preferred. Able to read and interpret drawings, and diagrams of the trade. Must have minimum two years of experience in all phases of painting (brush, roller, spray air, and airless). Prior training in wallpaper/vinyl installation. Additional experience with tile helpful. Must be familiar with all types of coatings and finishes, including competency in blending colors. Must be able to do glazing type finishes and fine detail type painting. Must be able to finish patching of both smooth and textured surfaces. Hands-on working knowledge of pneumatic and airless spray equipment. Must have excellent eyesight and be able to distinguish colors, including pastels and different shades. Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances. Valid California driver's license required. Proof of personal automobile insurance coverage required. Hotel experience preferred.

    SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Courteous, friendly manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 95% of shift; sits approximately 5% of shift. Must be able to do overhead work, including scraping, sanding and painting. Must be able to work at extreme heights. Strength, flexibility, and good reflexes needed to operate mechanized lifts. Frequent daily use of stairs. Balance required for working from ladders and scaffold.
