today! Careers Professional Development Lead (Elementary Math) Art
of Problem Solving (AoPS) is on a mission to discover, inspire, and
train the great problem solvers of the next generation. Since 2003,
we have trained hundreds of thousands of the country's top
students, including nearly all the members of the US International
Math Olympiad team, through our online school, in-person academies,
textbooks, and online learning systems. While our primary focus has
been math for most of our history, through the years we have
expanded our unique problem solving curriculum into subjects, such
as language arts, science, and computer science. At AoPS, we
believe the best way to solve all of the future's toughest problems
is to invest in all of the problem solvers of the future. That is
why we are launching a new business unit called Beast Academy
Classroom to bring our curriculum to hundreds of thousands of
elementary students directly through in-school instruction. For 10
years the Beast Academy curriculum has been providing engaging,
rigorous math challenges to elementary school students. Beast
Academy Classroom will build on that knowledge and experience to
deliver a best-in-class, day-to-day math education experience for
students in Grades 1-6, teachers, families and school leaders .

and Responsibilities:
- Lead the long and short term strategic planning of
comprehensive professional development resources. Maintain a deep
understanding of the support needs of teachers and coaches; design
and implement development plans for important stakeholders like new
and returning teachers, school leaders, school sites, districts,
etc. -
- Create professional development resources that improve the
instructional experience. Create standardized, repeatable content
based on recurring annual arcs and common developmental milestones;
create additional "a la carte" content based on teaching and
learning needs identified during the academic year
- Deliver professional development training sessions and team,
individual coaching. Facilitate in-person and virtual sessions with
groups of teachers, on-site classroom visits, and individual
coaching conversations; ensure links between professional
development and changes in instructional practice; coordinate
sessions with partner schools;
- Collaborate to develop standardized systems and processes to
organize, maintain and support BA Classroom's program-wide
professional learning community. During pilot years we will
experiment to identify the most efficacious and efficient
methodologies, content and operations; requires building capacity
internally at AoPS and externally at partner schools.
- Support Beast Academy Classroom curriculum development. Deliver
detailed feedback to internal AoPS curriculum developers about
teacher and student-facing materials (lesson plans, assessments,
professional development, fluency modules and activities). You

impact of your work. Required Skills & Experience:
- 6+ years of mathematics teaching experience in an elementary
school.
- A Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field or education, or
equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred. -
- 4+ years of experience coaching teachers and delivering
professional development
- Experience building strong relationships with students,
families and school leaders.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and
consider multiple different perspectives.
- Occasional travel required to visit partner schools, including
overnight out-of-state travel. - Perks and Benefits: This full-time
position will be based at our headquarters in San Diego, CA. The
full salary range for this position is $85-110K, with a 6% year-end
bonus. Some benefits of the position include:
