identified. DESCRIPTIONUses skills of instructional design and
multimedia development as an experienced professional to help shape
curricular content into coherent instructional modules that employ
multimedia and a variety of interactive, web-based tools aimed at
encouraging the engagement of students and other learners in
knowledge acquisition. Drives the learning strategy and pedagogical
content of a novel engineering and problem solving curriculum
developed for high- school (9-12) instruction. Responsibilities
include creating detailed, engaging curricula and quality
resources; liaising with subject matter experts; outlining
objectives; and providing feasible timeframes for development and
implementation.The Instructional Designer is responsible for
translating needs and performance requirements into project-based
learning products with a focus on designing and developing the
processes, content and materials that will enable learners,
instructors and coaches to achieve learning objectives.The
incumbent will design, develop, and manage JSOE-specific
engineering curricula using a variety of authoring and multimedia
tools to create lesson plans. Uses advanced technical skills
related to learning management systems (LMS), multimedia design,
assessment systems, communication tools, streaming media platforms,
and multimedia creative applications to meet unique and often new
requirements related to course design and development, and
instructor resources including: storyboards/scripts and
production-ready multimedia.Works in concert with subject matter
experts to define learning objectives. Project-requirements require
in-depth evaluation and understanding of engineering learning goals
and learning content will compliment engineering experiments
developed as part of a Project-Based-Learning (PBL) pedagogy. The
incumbent will partner with senior internal and external personnel
to maximize the effectiveness of engineering experiments as they
pertain to learning objectives.Responsible for leading instruction
for internal and external focus groups and trainings consisting of
undergraduate, graduate, and high school students, as well as K-12
instructors, university faculty, and industry experts. Ability to
receive critical feedback and implement changes on curriculum and
instruction style.Serve as LMS expert and lead initiatives related
to the LMS. May assume responsibility for a program of courses
offered at a university or with university affiliates. Provides
coaching and guidance to instructors, particularly across campus
partnerships and K-12 collaborators.Incumbent should have a strong
understanding of how the learning process works, be well versed in
relevant research, and be prepared to collaborate with a wide range
of professionals. Outstanding candidates have strong project
management abilities, and excellent technical writing, research,
and communication skills. Demonstrates high degree of collaboration
and diplomacy as well as problem analysis and creative solutions.
Solves complex content or delivery related issues in collaboration
with technical teams. Interacts with senior internal and external
personnel. Normally receives little direction for ongoing course
