Job Description SummaryThe Operations Business Process Specialist is responsible and accountable for transforming data in to information that can clearly and concisely be communicated to and utilized by the Operations leadership team to support data-driven decision making. The incumbent will utilize their broad operations experience and skills to collaboratively develop, summarize and present monthly, quarterly and annual operations performance reports. This critical member of the operations management team will provide insights and recommendations to improve key operational initiatives such as annual cost savings, manufacturing strategy and new product introduction. Through thorough and deep analytics, the incumbent will identify operational and business improvement opportunities and work cross-functional to assess and prioritize projects, then ensure the expected results are delivered. The Operations Business Process Specialist is part of a high performing Operations management team that is expected to understand, contribute and lead the broader function. Each member of the team is expected to problem solve and manage the business beyond traditional functional roles. To this end, the incumbent needs to understand customer needs, both internal and external, and craft sustainable business solutions that can contribute to both top and bottom line growth. The incumbent will work in a highly matrixed organization with responsibility to drive business performance across multiple sites, business units, and regions Job DescriptionResponsibilities - Leading Business Intelligence initiatives in Manufacturing Operations - Collaborating with key business users in developing insightful analytical models, metrics and reports - Creating effective executive level presentations to clearly and succinctly communicate results and recommendations - Monitoring and reporting Manufacturing Operations performance against Safety, Quality, Delivery and financial goals - Developing insights for core functions including cost savings, manufacturing strategy and new product introduction as well as supporting the Annual Strategic Planning process - Establishing Manufacturing Operations analytics to make operational performance and trends visible - Developing business cases for project justification - Aggregate and summarize data across Manufacturing Operations and develop monthly reports based on results - Analyze, troubleshoot, and determine data error root causes to ensure data accuracy and integrity - Develop reporting capability for Manufacturing Operations Key Performance Indicators and track and report performance metrics - Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators to identify areas for improvement and action plans - Identify and evaluate opportunities for cost reduction throughout the entire Manufacturing Operations - Use common processes and information systems to enable Manufacturing Operations analysis. Develop decision support tools leveraging enterprise and desktop applications - Collaborate and problem-solve cross-functionally with internal business partners - Conduct internal and external benchmarking analysis Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Business, Science or related field - 7+ years in transforming data in to information - Understanding of Manufacturing Operations business processes and its integration with other areas of business - Applies data mining and statistical analysis to understand trends - Hands on skills and in-depth understanding of Reporting Solutions and Data Models and experience in delivery of reporting solutions - Experience in analytics solutions like Tableau, Qlickview, Birst, Minitab and SAP BI Tools - Understanding of SAP or similar ERP solutions - Ability to learn and develop full understanding of product portfolio including medical usage, competitive positioning, and manufacturing processes Additional Qualifications - Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills - Demonstrate passion and interest in analytics and data - Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into executable technical/process deliverables - Resilience, sense of urgency, calm under pressure, persistence, influencing skills, ownership/accountability, and a clear track record of leadership in accomplishing cross-functional initiatives - Strong technical acumen and a track record for being an early adopter in leveraging new technologies - Strong background in Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Theory of Constraints techniques Primary Work LocationUSA CA - San Diego Bldg A & B Additional Locations Work Shift
