RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce is hiring an entry level Chemical Technician for an enterprise research and development client in San Diego, California (CA). This position will be onsite daily. Apply today!Summary: This opportunity will enable a Chemical Technician to join a team of other technicians, Chemists, and Engineers who are creating working on our client's propriety inks and coating products. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to join a team and make an immediate impact and gain experience in this space. Project: As a member of this Research and Development team, the Chemical Technician will have an opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest scientists within the industry and helping to develop, test, and perfect various projects relating to ink formulation and coatings development. While working on this project you will be asked to perform some of the below tasks:

  • Chemical Technician will perform analysis of materials and components utilizing standard lab equipment (microscope, etc.)
  • Work with partners to solve analytical requests and communicate results accordingly
  • Ensure adherence best practices around: Laboratory Safety, Instrument Calibration, Instrument maintenance, Instrument troubleshooting and problem solving, Laboratory Documentation (SOP), Quality System Support (R&R)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the general/technical aspects of the job
  • Works on assignments that are complex in nature and require intuitive and proactive thinking
  • Chemical Technician will stay up to date on new procedures and policies and make suggestions on how to create efficiencies

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Biology, or another relevant science-related major
    • 6 months - 2 years of experience operating in a wet lab or dry lab setting
    • Knowledge/experience of chemical concepts and principles acquired through education, prior work experience or on-the-job training
    • Knowledge/experience in operating multiple types of analytical instruments
    • Ability to operate advanced instruments in a routine fashion including set up, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting (IC, GC, LC, etc.)
    • Ability to perform advanced, standard lab practices (titration, purification, etc.)
    • Ability to develop simple experimental/analytical methods
    • Ability to conduct complex experiments, analyze the results and then articulate results to managers and/or write
    • Research articles and patent reports
    • Ability to work with equipment vendors for new tool research, purchasing, and set up
    • Ability to author and review technical reports
