Our main products include satellites and associated space components and services; launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; and advanced aerospace structures.The Space Components Division has an opening for a Sr. Principal Quality Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CAThe Quality Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing quality system procedures, auditing and auditing oversight of internal and external audits, and quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.Responsibilities
  • Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Monitoring and oversight of corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
  • Manage plant wide corrective action improvements
  • Conduct and coordinate audits
  • Manage continuous improvement initiatives
  • Help develop and maintain plant wide work area instructions
  • Coordinate monthly plant Quality review
  • Generate monthly key performance metrics and charts
  • Analyze and generate reports to assist in quality system improvementsBasic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of Quality or Mission Assurance related work experience; in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8+ years of related work experience
    • Frequent use and general knowledge of aerospace industry practices, techniques, and standards.
    • General application of quality concepts, and principles
    • Understanding of the non-conformance and corrective action process
    • Able to process and analyze data and quickly identify areas for presentation or improvement opportunities.
    • U.S. Citizenship requiredPreferred Qualifications:
      • ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditor
      • Advanced Excel skills
      • Ability to perform complex professional tasks
      • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
      • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to work with all levels of personnel, including management and outside vendors and to accurately communicate, document and report.
      • Experience in an Aerospace manufacturing environment

        Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD

        Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
