System (GIS) Analyst is responsible for providing GIS services to
external and/or internal clients in a shared services environment.
The GIS Analyst determines client needs and proposes optimal GIS
and geospatial technologies and solutions to meet business needs
under the guidance of the GIS Manager.This is an exciting full-time
position working within our Environmental Services business
operating unit. The position also has the potential to support
other business lines including Mining, Oil & Gas, Power & Dams, and
Water as needed. This position will support projects across the
United States.This postion can be remote within driving distance to
one of our Southern California offices; Thousand Oaks, Pasadena,
San Diego, Irvine or San Bernadino.Alternatively, there is a
possibility for the candidate to be located within any of our
southern California Offices. This mid-level position, which allows
for ample professional development and mentorship, will expand our
existing southern California GIS team.Your Key
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the design and management of
project GIS databases along with the compiling of geographic
information to support specific GIS project tasks.Developing high
quality cartographic work products both in the desktop and web
environments.Conduct simple to complex spatial analyses using both
vector and raster data types to provide insights to planning,
engineering, environmental and geotechnical project tasks.Design
and configuration of mobile data collection workflows using Esri
specific mobile applications.Adhering to established cartographic
standards and Quality Assurance / Quality Control
processes.Collaborating with existing GIS, CAD and non-geospatial
staff members across the company.Serves as the GIS lead on both
small and large-scale projects.Leverages ArcGIS Platform to create
comprehensive project GIS solutions.Mentoring of junior members of
the GIS team in technical skills and project
management.QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsSolid
understanding of GIS theory and principles.Significant experience
working with and applying the Esri ArcGIS Platform (Desktop, ArcGIS
Online, Enterprise), including in a virtualized environment (e.g.
Citrix), to a wide variety of project types.Proficient with Esri
ArcGIS Desktop software (i.e., ArcPro, ArcMap,
ArcCatalog)Experience with ArcGIS Online and/or Portal to publish
project sensitive data within custom web maps and applications for
data consumption by project teams, the client and/or
public.Familiarity with ArcGIS Online associated applications
(e.g., Dashboards, Web App Builder, StoryMaps, Hub Sites)Experience
configuring Esri mobile data collection applications (e.g., ArcGIS
Collector/Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, QuickCapture) to meet a
wide variety of project field data collection needs.Strong
foundation in data acquisition, data management, data analysis,
data models and data editing.Familiarity with coordinate systems,
projections and transformations.Advanced cartographic skills for
both desktop and web-based maps.Familiarity with GIS / CAD data
interoperabilityFamiliarity with 3-D visualization techniques
within ArcGIS Pro a plusGood driving record and valid driver's

continuously improve on existing skillsets.Education and
ExperienceBachelors or an advanced degree in GIS, environmental
science, geology, biology, archaeology, or related field with
demonstrated GIS training or coursework.3 to 5 years demonstrated
professional work experience performing GIS tasks. An equivalent
combination of recent education and job experience may be
sufficient to successfully perform the essential job
duties.Demonstrated skills in python scripting will be considered
valuable.Prior experience within a consulting environment will be
considered valuable.Specific experience providing GIS services
within the Environmental Services industry sectors will be
considered a strength but is not required.Advanced data management
experience (Server, SDE, SQL) would be beneficial but is not
required.Typical office environment working with computers and
remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may
include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
