Description:

• Performs mechanical repairs and maintenance to the yard facilities, utilities, and production equipment.
• Performs new installations and modifications to yard facilities, buildings, structures, utility distributions, and production equipment.
• Installs and removes temporary portable production support equipment portable utility distributions and other services in the yard.
• Maintenance and repair of engines, motors, cranes, pumps, cars, golf carts, machines, and other equipment
• Will troubleshoot broken equipment or do preventative maintenance on equipment around the shipyard
• Inspects equipment to insure safe and reliable operations.
• Performs equipment service and repairs on equipment using test equipment, hand, tools, pneumatic tools and other power tools,
• Fills out various required reports and documentation, such as; work orders, inspection forms, discrepancy sheets, log books, and service forms.
• Test equipment such as dial indicators, rulers, pressure and flow gauges, voltage meter, calipers, micrometers, tachometers and other equipment installed meters and gauges.
• Tools and work aids such as: hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, bearing and gear pullers, hand and table saws, bench grinders, files, polishers, port-a-powers, hand trucks, lifts, chain falls, welding equipment, burning torches, jib cranes, man lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, bearing and gear press, and bench vises.
• Performs installations, repairs and maintenance on all utility distribution through out the facilitiesAdditional Skills & Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of mechanical maintenance working on pumps and piping systems/conveyors & gearboxes.
  • Extensive experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and preventative maintenance.
  • mechanically inclined work with maintenance or repair in an industrial environment.
