The Role

The Engineering Test Technician is responsible for working with engineering to conduct and develop chemical, electrochemical, as well as mechanical testing. Battery experience is a plus. Responsibilities

  • With minimal supervision individual should be able to conduct tests and report results (graphically in Excel or Minitab and or PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity using various equipment, such as, but not limited to:
    • X-ray/CT scanner/SEM
    • Multi axis vibration table
    • Tensile/compression/torque testing
    • Helium leak checks
    • Conductivity tester
    • Titration
    • Other custom cell testing equipment
    • Ability to conduct and report failure analysis studies
    • Independently setups tests, outlines test procedures, and executes tests o Setup various test equipment such as power supplies, and data acquisition systems with data logging/monitoring
      o Supports development and fabrication of test setups to include test fixtures, test equipment, and data collection hardware.
      o Testing may include electrical, mechanical, and thermal stresses as well as related data collection and reporting where needed.
      • Ability to communicate well in a team environment as well as present data/findings to other groups within the organization
      • Analysis/graphing of data using statistical tools such as Minitab or JMP is a plus
      • Functional knowledge of Excel required; knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, MS Office, & Outlook needed Requirements
        • Test Technician: o Bachelor's in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering or relevant technical background
          o 5+ years of experience in a testing environment using similar equipment, as listed above, is desired
          - Over 3 years related experience in lithium-ion battery product test environment is a plus
          - Ability to present data graphically using Excel and Power Point is a must
          - Hands-on, experience with automated measurement equipment and data logging systems
          - Ability to conceptualize and build practical test setups and fixtures (Familiarity with CAD tools a plus)
          - Ability to run tests, experiments, define next steps with minimal supervision
          - Recommend, and document changes in processes, fixtures, or equipment needed to improve testing yield, equipment reliability and test repeatability

            Expected Compensation
            $22.00 - $62.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
            Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
