Job Ad Template OU.LOCATIONSUMMARY:Design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic parts, components orintegrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardwaresystems; determine design approaches and parameters; analyzeequipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental testsand evaluates results; selects components and equipment based onanalysis of specifications and reliability; review vendor capabilityto support product development; works on complex scope of project.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:Design electrical circuits, components and integratedmicrowave assemblies including computer/mathematical modeling,part, material and process selection and mechanical layout andpackaging; perform technical analysis/feasibility for newproduct specifications and generate cost/technical proposals. Perform routine specification analysis and component designincluding creation of drawing package, using Employer standarddesign practices and produce prototype hardware consistent withEmployer manufacturing produce-ability requirements; performroutine specification analysis for new product specificationscollaborating with senior management.Test, tune, debug and optimize prototype circuits andcomponents to meet specification requirements andmanufacturing produce-ability requirements; write testprocedures and/or software.Mentor less experienced level engineers and activelyparticipate in their development to Responsible Engineers; guidetechnicians on test, tune, debug and optimization of prototypecircuits and components;Partner with the organization in the scheduling of developmentprojects, including process development, fixture design andimplementation, material procurement and customer interface(design reviews); evaluate customer and support proposalgeneration.Perform and coordinate production engineering support functionsuch as fixtures, materials, design, process problem evaluationand solution.Participate in safety training and actively comply with safetypolicies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation.Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions forimprovements.Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area aswell as events for other areas to enhance cross-functionalproblem solving.Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including SETteam support as appropriate.Perform other related duties as assigned.DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:Provide mentorship to less experienced Electrical Engineersand technicians;Works on complex scope where analysis of situations or datarequires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors;Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques andevaluation criteria for obtaining results;Determines methods and procedures on new assignments;Generate BID material in response to RFQ's such as line ups,component selection and technical papers. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can beacquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/orvocational training as noted or as appropriate.)Six (6) plus years of related experience in design anddevelopment of broadband integrated RF/Microwaveassemblies, including the testing and measurement of componentsand integrated devices with knowledge of tuning, troubleshootingand modeling design circuitry; working knowledge of measuringand understanding parameter, including but not limited toS-parameters, power measurement, noise figure, intercept point,compression point, switching speed, spurious and phase noise;Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), orrelated field, including electromagnetism course and labs,required;Communication skills: ability to receive messages bytelephone, in person, electronically and in writing; askquestions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability toread, interpret and comprehend complex written and verbalinstructions; communicate across organizational levels; abilityto read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technicalprocedures, or governmental regulations; ability to writereports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; abilityto speak effectively present information and respond toquestions from groups of managers, clients and customers and thegeneral public; ability to communicate with quality, integrityand respect in a way that inspires others and encouragesinnovation and possibilities; technical writing skills todocument test requirements and prepare concise technicalreports;Reasoning skills: ability to sufficiently apply common senseunderstanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involvingseveral concrete variables in standardized situations;Math skills: ability to work with advanced math includingcalculus, complex numbers and solid knowledge of VSWR (SmithCharts); ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in allunits of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions anddecimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent; applyconcepts of advanced algebra and geometry; Computer skills: exposure to a networked environment using aWindows and/or Windows like interface using Microsoft officesuite; ability to use Enterprise-wide information systems suchas SAP and drawing-viewing programs such CAD or CAE, preferred;Mastery of AutoCAD and microwave Office SW products, required.Technical skills: ability to read schematics, assemblydrawings and parts list; ability to createelectrical schematic and mechanical drawings; basic knowledgeof programming;working knowledge of electronics including power and RFtheory; RF/Microwave parameters & test procedures;Time Management & organizational skills: ability to planeffectively using different tools; flexibility and adaptabilityto changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintainconfidentiality;Excellence Behaviors: remain engaged, proactive and positiveeven in tough circumstances; own assignments and be fullyaccountable for their success; align actions, behaviors andconversations to what matters most; bring out the best in othersand recognize the value in every person's contributions; abilityto work independently being proactive to resolve work issues ornotify supervisor of resources needed; ability to coordinatewith other employees and as part of a team.Security:All applicants must be a U.S Citizen or U.S Person as defined byITAR (a lawful permanent resident or someone who is a protectedindividual as defined by 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3)).
