Job Ad Template OU.LOCATIONSUMMARY:Responsible for leading the production operations of the productionline to meet customer and program commitments. Ensure teamoperational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.Facilitate cross-functional root cause problem solving (RCPS). Drivecontinuous improvement of the Value Stream at all levels. Achieve agreed-upon KPI objectives for product line; achieve valuestream goals for quantity, cost, delivery, and inventory. Provide regular feedback to production staff and conduct timelyannual performance appraisals. Facilitate performance dialogues andencourage employees to elevate issues, identify root cause using 5Whys or other tools, make suggestions and take corrective action.Participate in SOF-related training offered to value stream members.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:Supervises the Line Leaders who oversee the production cells.Includes participating in staff selection, performancemanagement (including evaluation and discipline), coaching,training and employee development, and ensuring compliance tolegal and company requirements.Coordinates training, develops and inspires line leaders todevelop high performance teams with the skills needed to conducteffective performance dialogues and RCPS.Works closely with the Value Stream Planner to ensureproduction schedule is met, making adjustments in work flow asneeded.Monitors KPIs boards and reacts to metrics and action itemlists. Facilitates RCPS discussions to identify processes toimprove KPI metrics. Solicits assistance from support functionsas needed or escalates issues that cannot be resolved at theline level.Conducts process confirmations to ensure standard workprocesses are being followed. Identifies and addressesnon-compliance and lowered productivity, looking for continuousimprovement opportunities.Ensures 5S practices are adhered to and sustained within workarea.Ensures all operational processes are carried out inaccordance with quality systems and procedures.Supports quotes with estimated times to completion data (ETCs)for new products; participates in engineering and productiontransfer meetings.Communicates with others across the organization to gaininformation and support, escalate issues, receive feedback andsuggestions, and provide updates and information. Acts asliaison between downstream team and other departments.Ensures that Safety, Health and Environmental compliance isincluded as part of every day activities.Upon completion of RCPS training, must develop and demonstrateproficiency in the following areas: problem identification, datacollection to clarify a problem, identifying point of cause,identifying and implementing containment actions, facilitatingbrainstorming sessions, creating action plans, identifying andoptimizing solutions to problems, verifying solutions eliminateroot cause, standardizing solutions and communicating changes;use of check sheets, cause and effect diagrams, Pareto diagrams.MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can beacquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/orvocational training as noted or as appropriate.)Generally 3-5 years of experience in people management. BS orBA Undergraduate Degree typically required in a related field ofstudy. If individual possesses an MS or MA Graduate Degreein a related field of study, prior work experience f 2-3 yearsin People Management is acceptable.
