We are looking for a Senior Marketing Director to support Optum Financial business objectives, develop effective messaging and positioning, create market awareness, and drive new interest. In this position you will be responsible for communicating the features and benefits of our products and solutions through compelling storytelling and innovative marketing outreach.

Focusing on our health care provider market, you'll be responsible to partner with product, sales, and operations to develop measurable marketing programs that articulate the value of products, generate, and nurture leads via omni-channel strategies. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a set of marketing bill of materials and content assets that articulates the value proposition of the solutions. In addition, you will support sales efforts, assist in creating product launch strategies, develop sales enablement content, create event marketing experiences, and drive customer engagement.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Understand the competitive landscape-be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned
  • Collaborate with product management and sales to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas
  • Understand and document our buyer's process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn
  • Create marketing collateral and sales tools including brochures, sell sheets, presentations, website content and infographics
  • Plan and implement integrated marketing strategy for targeted Optum Financial market segments - includes programs, new product introductions and email, digital and social strategies that support sales, pipeline and retention goals
  • Responsible for MQL and SQL lead/demand generation
  • Use advanced metrics to monitor and evaluate campaigns and adjust on an ongoing basis to improve performance
  • Ensure that campaigns, assets, communications, and messaging are on brand
  • Manage events, including webinars, virtual briefings, and podcast like events
  • Manage outside marketing support resources as needed

    Required Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
    • 12+ years of B2B product marketing/digital marketing experience
    • 1+ years of people management experience
    • Experience developing and managing budgets
    • Ability to travel nationally, on occasion

      Preferred Qualifications:


      • Experience in financial services and/or fintech
      • Lead-generation experience
      • Experience building solid market facing campaigns and engaging messaging for payers, health systems, and strategic channel partners
      • Experience managing, leading, and motivating a team to meet or exceed marketing goals
      • Highly self-motivated with a focus on producing stellar results
      • Work in a collaborative, cross-team capacity. Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties
      • Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines
      • Ability to be flexible and manage ambiguity to collaborate with multiple partners and maintain a strong point of view
      • Highly analytical and quantitative with an ability to use data to inform business strategy
      • Partner with internal and external research firms to develop deep expertise of user and buyer insights to influence product roadmap
      • Possess examples of thriving in a matrixed organization, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a tight focus on execution of target objectives
      • Solid creative and brand sense, ability to work with agencies or internal teams to build and deliver outstanding sales materials that are on brand, on budget and on time

        Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
