Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking -highly motivated, experienced -sales candidates that are interested in pursuing a career in outside sales within the greater Los Angeles, San Diego, Oxnard and San Bernardino area market. This position works very closely with their client accounts and will focus on prospecting and developing new accounts. Your clients will be as diverse as we are as we supply Foodservice packaging.Foodservice representatives are responsible for developing Individual Food Service growing FoodService segment. Working with IFS's CRM, sales representatives will follow up on leads, identify key markets, and use IFS's sales process to grow the division. Responsibilities include prospect and qualify new leads, develop key by relationships, and identify and resolve customer concerns.We will assist you in accelerating your career and develop your sales and prospecting skills in this growing industry with -unlimited earnings potential -based on the profits you generate! In operation since 1926, Individual FoodService is Southern California's premier distributor of food, paper, plastic, packaging, janitorial, and smallwares products.What you need to succeedWe are looking for outside sales representatives who have the -STRONG DESIRE -to earn -well above average income -in a commission driven environment where commission rates far -EXCEED -the industry standard. We are seeking hungry sellers who want to develop strong relationships and provide creative solutions to help their clients overcome issues, provide solutions, and become a trusted partner.We are looking for people with a solid background in the -food service industry -to:

  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Develop and maintain sales and marketing materials and current product knowledge.
  • Generates additional business through analyzing sales territory and individual customers; samples products with existing and potential customers; plans general sales strategy including time and territory management; plans sales approach with individual customers; and conducts effective sales presentations.
  • Grows sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis to meet established sales and margin goals.
  • Sets up new customer accounts by determining pricing; works with Credit Department for initial authorization; other center personnel for scheduling order-taking, deliveries, etc. Performs initial follow-up work with customer ensuring delivery and product satisfaction.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by providing an exemplary level of service by working closely with other center personnel to coordinate efforts to prevent and resolve customer problems. May be personally responsible for making deliveries in emergency situations.
  • Builds additional business with current customers through product penetration in order to maximize profitability of individual accounts.
  • Minimizes accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms and follows up on any problems.
  • Maintains awareness of pricing trends within sales territory, particularly on market driven / commodity products, to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Participate in company meetings to review sales performance, product development, sales goals and profitability!
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

      • 3-5+ years of successful outside sales experience in B2B with a preference in foodservice supplies sales (i.e. manufacturers rep., or foodservice distribution)
      • Ability to prospect and develop new accounts, developed book of business is preferred
      • Strong work ethic focused on your financial and professional success
      • Maintain and build in-house accounts
      • Candidate must live in the sales territory
      • Excellent time-management

      • Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record
      • Willing to work harder and smarter than you ever have before!Other factors that help
        • Post high school education (i.e. culinary training, AS/BS degree in business management)
        • Exceptional level of motivation, desire, competitiveness, customer-driven focus, time management, multi-tasking and project management skills
        • Ability to manage, develop, and enhance new and existing customer accounts
        • Ability to cold call extensively to develop new business
        • Strong presentation skills and interpersonal effectiveness
        • Ability to work well independently
        • Competence in Microsoft Office and general computer usage
