Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineer - Field Service
Representative or a Principal Electronics Engineer - Field Service
Representative within the Mission Systems IPT to join our team of
qualified, diverse individuals. The position is located in Rancho
Bernardo, CA with up to 25% CONUS travel. Responsibilities include
(but are not limited to):
- Integrate and test software/hardware systems in complex IT
systems.
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with
other engineers and technicians in a lab-like environment.
- Use application of extensive technical expertise to support a
developing system. This position may be filled at either the
Electronics Engineer - Field Service Representative or Principal
Electronics Engineer - Field Service Representative level depending
upon the qualifications below. Basic Qualifications for Electronics
Engineer - Field Service Representative:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering
experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years
of related engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating
systems
- Demonstrated experience with VmWare
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security+ Certificate for
administrators
- Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access
(SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of
employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time
as determined by the company to meet its business needs. (Of note:
SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role.
Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain
upgraded SAP/PAR.)
- Ability to travel up to 25% Basic Qualifications for Principal
Electronics Engineer - Field Service Representative:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering
experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years
of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM
discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating
systems
- Demonstrated experience with VmWare
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security+ Certificate for
administrators
- Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access
(SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of

- Ability to travel up to 25% Preferred Qualifications for both
levels:
- Current Special Program Access
- Security+ Certificate for administrators
- Mission Planning experience
- Previous experience with existing system
- Ability to maintain system configurations
- Provide expert software, hardware, and system support to
on-site end-users.
- Train end-users.
- Support the IPT with software defect resolution and enhancement
efforts.
- Ability to develop and maintain Microsoft PowerShell scripts,
Bash and Python scripts, and Microsoft Group Policies
- Familiarity with storage systems and basic networking, Solaris
10 and 11, Oracle OEM, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows,
Active Directory, VMware ESXi, Vmware, and vCenter
- Ability to do the following:
- Author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and
update procedures
- Document and maintain system configurations
- Provide engineering technical support for peer teams
- Engineer and Test new technical solutions in lab
environments
- Design and implement VMware high-availability virtualized
infrastructures
- Maintain COTS Hardware and Software configuration matrix
- Script deployments of Microsoft Windows Server and Workstation
and Solaris 10 and 11 operating systems
- Automate installation of COTS software
- Engineer solutions to address new technical requirements and/or
bug fixes
- Implement engineering changes to the system as required
- Maintain compatibility with existing architectures when
implementing system enhancements
- Release CM controlled documentation, scripts, and COTS software
media Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800
Salary Range 2: $107,300 - $160,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays
and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
