Twitter . The Opportunity We seek a highly motivated early career
scientist to join the biomarker team at Avidity Biosciences in La
Jolla, CA. This position will support the characterization of novel
biomarker targets in neuromuscular disorders and their connection
to disease biology. The ideal candidate is expected to be a
critical thinker willing to receive training in independent
industry research. They should enjoy scientific discovery,
effective communication, and collaboration in a fast-paced,
interdisciplinary environment. What You Will Contribute Conduct
laboratory research to characterize tissue and circulating
biomarkers Investigate the biological relevance of biomarkers and
their relationship to disease pathology Generate, analyze, and
interpret biomarker data and present findings to the biomarker
sciences team. Collaborate with academic partners and KOLs to
advance biomarker understanding What We Seek PhD in Biology,
Pharmacology, or a related discipline, with no more than 2 years of
postdoctoral research experience. Recent PhD graduates are
encouraged to apply. An academic scientist with experience working
on in vitro and ex vivo preclinical models, including engineered
and patient-derived myoblast and myotube cell lines Experienced
with a broad array of assay platforms and technologies (e.g.,
RNAseq, flow cytometry, immunoassays, IHC, etc.) Experience
characterizing intracellular protein localization and interrogating
secretion mechanisms Emerging level of independence and the ability
to develop hypotheses and direct independent research Prior
experience in characterizing novel biomarkers (tissue and/or
circulation) is highly desirable Excellent communication (oral and
written), teamwork, organizational, interpersonal, and
problem-solving skills What We Will Provide to You: The base salary
range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000. The final compensation
will be commensurate with relevant experience, skillset, internal
equity, and market factors. Avidity offers competitive compensation
